Good to know

Questions before your visit.

How soon can I be seen?

Our goal is an initial telehealth visit within two business days after you contact our office, when clinically appropriate. This is an operating goal, not a guaranteed appointment. Tell our team if your discharge instructions require earlier follow-up.

Do you accept insurance?

AM&A accepts most major insurance plans and Medicare, and self-pay is available. Participation and coverage vary by plan and service. Our team must confirm your specific plan and visit costs.

Does this replace my primary care doctor?

No. Follow Up Dr. provides outpatient bridge care while you reconnect with your usual physician. Keep arranging the primary care and specialist appointments recommended in your discharge plan.

What if I feel worse before my appointment?

Follow the return precautions in your discharge instructions. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Appointment requests and general texts are not emergency services.

Is an online request a confirmed appointment?

No. The request uses the existing AM&A Follow Up Dr. appointment-request form. Our team must confirm your date, time, location, and visit type.

Your next step

You’re home.
Let’s talk about what comes next.

Request a follow-up appointment through AM&A. Our team will confirm availability and the appropriate visit type.

A request is not a confirmed appointment. Follow the timing and return precautions in your discharge instructions.
